the run down

I realize it has been weeks since I posted a blog...and to be honest even with all of this time to think about what to write, I continue to find myself not knowing quite where to begin. So much has happened in the past month in Kenya. Hundreds of people have been killed, hundreds of thousands displaced from their homes, countless business, homes, schools and churches burned to the ground and millions grieving and living in fear. With all of this going on it is difficult to think about yourself. It is difficult to be so far away from those who are hurting, asking why, and looking for something to have faith in. Perhaps the most difficult part for me is knowing that I believe in a God of love who desires to set people free from fear and hate...yet I'm not there to tell these people about Him. I ask that you continue to lift Kenya up in prayer. While the coverage of this volatile situation simmers here in America, continue educating yourself on the injustices happening all over the world, advocate for those being persecuted, and do the thing that God gave us power in...pray!

The update on the TI crew in Kitale and beyond. The entire North American team there has remained safe and has been able to get back to almost normal functioning. All of our projects are safe and have food. All of our Kenyan friends are in safe places and no one was physically harmed. Many of our friends have moved to safer places in their cities or in the regions of the country where their tribe is most prevalent. Overall we are able to share many praises that we weren't sure we'd be able to share...so thank you for fighting in prayer for our brothers and sisters! Now fight for those who don't know God's grace.

What happens next?

Right now Kenya is in day two of political rallies in key areas of the country. The cities to pray for are: Nairobi, Kisumu and Eldoret. Day one of the rallies was generally peaceful and police used force accordingly. Please keep day two and three in your prayers as well as all that follows.

Again, I encourage you to educate yourself on the situation in Kenya, pull friends, family and co-workers together and plead on behalf of this nation. Here are a few sources that have been particularly helpful for me in keeping up to date:

Thank you so much for your emails, phone calls and concern. But thank you most of all for joining us in prayer for Kenya!
